“I’m Upset” is the fourth single released by Drake in 2018, following the Scary Hours EP from January and “Nice For What,” which released in April.
Throughout the track, Drake discusses alimony and how he needs to protect his money from women out to get him.
On Instagram, Drake officially stated that “I’m Upset” is a single that is unrelated to his beef with Pusha-T. He discussed that beef on the song “Duppy Freestyle,” which was released the day before this track.
However, upon the release of Pusha-T’s response, “The Story of Adidon,” it appears this track is still loosely related to their beef. On that track, Pusha made a claim that Drake had been hiding a child from the public. Pusha-T specifically references “I’m Upset” in the song’s outro:
"And you talkin' ‘bout you upset
Hahahahaha
Well, I wanna see what it’s like when you get angry, okay?"
